From 1st July 2023, our phone lines will be covered by BADGER out of hours on a Thursday from 13:00-18:30. If you require urgent medical advice on a Thursday after 13:00, please call the practice as normal and your call will be automatically diverted to badger. If your call is non-urgent, please call us back on a Friday when our lines re-open from 08:00.
The decision to divert our phone lines on a Thursday from 1pm has not been taken lightly. Currently the GP practice workload is extremely high and we have had a significant increase in the number of patients registered at the practice. As a surgery we feel that to in order to safely provide care and treatment to everyone registered with us our staff should have one afternoon per week of protected time in which they can process any outstanding tasks as well as undertake mandatory training.
As part of the process this was discussed with our Patient Group (PPG) who all fully supported the decision.
