Social Prescribing

As part of Our Health Partnership, working together with Health Exchange we are now happy to be able to offer Social Prescribing to our patients.

Social Prescribing is aimed at those patients who feel ‘unwell’, ‘out of sorts’ or ‘below par’ and a medical prescription is not the answer.

Social prescribing is a way of linking patients in primary care with sources of support which are typically provided by voluntary and community sector organisations.

Social prescribing provides GPs with a non-medical referral option that can operate alongside existing treatments to improve health and well-being. Examples of activities include gardening, befriending, cookery and a range of sports.

For more information please look at our social prescribing page, and then contact the surgery and ask for Anne-Marie or Karon.
